#1 Plan ahead for tee times playing the World's Top 50 Golf Courses
You just cant get a tee time 24 hours ahead or even 3 weeks ahead. You have to plan ahead. Most courses will allow you to reserve a tee time about 180 days ahead once you book your accommodation, if the course is located on the resort. For instance, Pebble Beach, has those rules. If you are not staying at the resort, you cant book a tee time until 24 hours.

#3 The costs associated with playing the World's Top 50 Golf Courses
The green fees for Old Course at St Andrews are about $400 for high season and $150 for low season. In comparison the costs for green fees start at $525 for Pebble Beach Golf Links. The green fees are nominal. What you have to take into account is the flights and lodging. Staying at The Lodge at Pebble Beach starts at $1000 compared to about $400 at the St Andrews Old Course Resort. Flights will vary also.
#4 Time of season matters when playing with the World's Top Golf Courses
The time of season will affect the course conditions all over the world, but the time of seas will also affect price. Low season in Ireland maybe high season at Torrey Pines, if you dont mind playing in fog or rain, maybe you take the change to play in the cold in Ireland. Weather in San Diego is predominantly unbeatable, so you can almost play that year around.
#5 Use a golf travel advisor
Im not just saying this because I am a travel advisor. Planning a golf trip is like planning a regular vacation, you'll pour over hours and hours of research, calling places, trying to get tee times. Why not let a golf travel advisor handle it for you. They know the ins and out and they have access to suppliers that can put together packages for golf trips, that you may not know about.
